Allied Concrete Supports R-A House Build in Hāwea
Allied Concrete Wānaka has recently supported the construction of R-A House in Hāwea, supplying approximately 15-20 m³ of ready mix concrete to the residential project. The project was designed by R-A OFFICE by The Apartment.
Located in the Southern Lakes region, the build required a considered approach to concrete supply and placement, with a focus on achieving a high-quality finish suitable for exposed internal flooring.
Delivering for Architectural Concrete Finishes
A key component of the project involved the supply of concrete for burnished interior flooring. This type of finish places increased importance on consistency, placement, and finishing, as the slab remains visible as part of the final surface.
To support this, Allied Concrete Wānaka worked closely with the site team to ensure the mix design, delivery timing, and placement process aligned with the requirements of the build. Maintaining consistency across pours was critical to achieving a clean, uniform finish.
Burnished concrete floors rely heavily on the quality of the base slab. From batching through to placement, attention to detail was essential to ensure the slab met the standard required for a refined architectural finish.
