Allied Concrete is proud to have supplied the concrete for a unique and innovative project at the Tamahere Country Club, the construction of a new permeable concrete base for the club’s premium lawn bowls green.

Working alongside AquaPave and the project client Game On Turf, Allied Concrete delivered a custom-engineered permeable concrete system designed to provide exceptional surface stability, drainage performance, and durability.

The new surface was installed after the club’s previous traditional aggregate base had experienced movement issues within the warranty period. By introducing a permeable concrete solution, the project team was able to create a stable, high-performance playing surface that is designed to last 30–50 years with minimal maintenance.

As well as improving playability for lawn bowls, the permeable concrete solution also offers sustainability benefits by promoting natural stormwater infiltration and reducing surface runoff. It’s a smart, future-focused solution that showcases the versatility of concrete in recreation and sports infrastructure.
