READY Now: Winter Cement
Concreting in winter can cause significant delays to finishing if the concrete is mixed and placed in cold conditions. Low air and ground temperatures will slow down the initial curing properties of the concrete and mean that the concrete is going to be slow in getting to the point of initial finishing, and is also at risk from overnight freezing.
Allied Concrete have developed specific mixes to reduce the time that concrete takes to accept the first finishing operations.
The standard equivalent summer mix takes approximately three times as long before it is possible to commence the finishing operations, during typical winter conditions.
